OH&S Strategic Planning
Most organizations recognize the importance of long term strategic planning. Setting goals that meet both compliance requirements and demonstrate the organization’s values is a critical aspect of OH&S strategic planning. Occupational health and safety objectives must be measurable and consistent with the organization’s performance metrics. Good OH&S strategic planning requires an in depth awareness of OH&S legislation and recognized “best practices”, as well as experience in translating anticipated outcomes into an organization’s business plans. Strategic plans also provide assistance in setting direction by providing a logical sequence of activities that support continual improvement of the health and safety program.
